About Amber

I am a graduate of Purdue University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and my Master of Science in Psychology. I graduate with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education this fall of 2022. I have taught just about all ages! As a substitute teacher, I had the opportunity to work with all elementary grades. I also taught Kindergarten and First Grade. Between graduating and starting a new degree, I have spent time traveling and homeschooling my four children. While homeschooling, I follow my states requirements and teach all subjects and include music, art, STEM, and physical education. I create all my own curriculums and use the Language Arts and Math common core methods. Working with children is my passion as it's both exciting and fulfilling. It is my goal to help children overcome any obstacle they may face while learning. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Literature, Science, and History. In my experience, the best way to make a great reader is to make reading fun. I understand that every child has their own way of learning. I take my time to learn each child's strengths and weaknesses, so I can help them succeed. When children struggle in school, it can have a negative impact on them. It is my goal to ensure that every child I tutor reaches their educational goals.

About the lesson

Before developing a plan, I assess every student and determine their weaknesses and strengths. With those results, I create a structured plan tailored just for them! I have seen students go from absolutely hating reading to loving it in two sessions! I have had students come to me with failing grades and by their next exam, they had all A’s and B’s.
