About Adam
I am a professional math tutor and musician, receiving my degrees from Oberlin College and Rice University. I have 2 years of experience tutoring math to students from middle school through college. I really love forming a personal connection through math with my students. I have always found math to be extremely fun and try to pass on this sentiment to my students. While it can be an intimidating subject, math is at the foundation of learning and thought, and can be taught in an intuitive way. I am good at teaching concepts in multiple ways, as every student is individual and needs a slightly different explanation. Outside of math, I love music, hiking, and cooking.

A typical session with me will consist of first reviewing the material taught in class. If one of my students is having difficulty, I try to find a new way to convey the class material to help them understand. From there, we would continue onto practice problems, either questions completed during class or upcoming homework problems. For math, I find using practice problems to be an extremely effective way to teach the material. I am very patient and always want to see my students succeed. I believe I am good at connecting with people, and this helps me to create a trusting space where my students can learn and improve. I have experience teaching middle school math, all the way up until calculus and other college math courses.
