About Betty
I graduated from MLC in 2018 as co-Dux with a perfect IB score of 45 and 99.95 ATAR. I would love to work with students to achieve their personal best in academics and beyond. I will be offering tutoring for all levels of secondary school mathematics, science (biology & chemistry) and Mandarin Chinese with a focus on the International Baccalaureate.
Academic Qualifications (International Baccalaureate, Nov 2018):
Mandarin SL (100% overall, full marks on all orals, exams and written assignment)
Mathematics HL - Statistics Option (94%, 100% on Paper 3, 97% Paper 2)
Chemistry HL (92%, 39/40 Paper 1)
Biology HL (91%, 23/24 Internal Assessment)
I can also assist with SAT preparation, and share strategies which helped me score 1570 on the (new) SAT I and 800 on both Maths Level 2 and Chemistry Subject Tests (SAT II).

Not only do I have a thorough understanding of the curriculum and assessments, I would love to share my highly-effective study and revision techniques. Our lessons will be supplemented by detailed notes and flashcards (Anki) that enable spaced repetition and active recall.
As your tutor and mentor, I will not only support you to succeed academically but also help you develop valuable communication, networking and leadership skills. I believe that VCE / IB is only a stepping stone to future opportunities and that there are many ways to set yourself apart aside from an ATAR.
