About Ochiba
To get to where I am, being an undergraduate and graduate alumna of MIT, especially considering I went to a school with limited academics and had immigrant parents who didn’t know how to navigate the American college admissions system, I have to be driven in order to exceed. That drive to excel carried over to all facets of my work and life, and I will be driven to help you to excel as well. However, my success was not mine alone. Without help, I wouldn’t have been able to succeed and would have become overwhelmed with the academic rigor of MIT. I love to tutor because mentors helping me navigate the challenges of MIT academics was a true lifeline to me and I want to provide that support to other students.

I graduated from MIT with a bachelor and master’s degree in computer science and molecular biology. Computational biology is an interdisciplinary field; as such, I have received advanced and elite training in not only biology and computer science, but also chemistry, statistics, and mathematics. Thus I am able to teach a variety of STEM courses to all levels from kindergarten to college. I also have had extensive tutoring experience since high school teaching students not just in biology, chemistry, statistics, mathematics, physics, but also in English and history. I have also taken AP courses and received 5 in a variety of AP courses in history, English, mathematics, biology, and physics. Thus, I have the extensive training and experience to help students in STEM and humanities courses reach their highest academic potential.
