About Sophia
Sophia received her Bachelor's degree in Physics and History (double major) from Harvard in 2024. In 2025-26, she is pursuing a Master's degree in China Studies through the Yenching Scholars program at Peking University (in China). She was also accepted to Yale's History Master's program. In high school, Sophia also competed in the Grand Concours (National French Contest) and Scholastic Writing Awards, where she consistently won national medals. She also medaled consistently in regional-level competitions in rock-climbing, track (1600-m & 3200-m), and cross-country (5k and half-marathon). She is attending Yenching on a Yenching Scholarship (~2.5% global acceptance rate, and Sophia ranked first among applicants globally her year). Before Yenching, she graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Highest Honors in Physics, Highest Honors in History from Harvard. Beyond academics, Sophia likes to play her trumpet (jazz and classical), go trail-running, write poems (mainly on topics she thinks are funny), and rock-climb.

Sophia received her Bachelor's degree in Physics and History (double major) from Harvard in 2024. Sophia has nine years of experience tutoring, and her teaching style hinges on quiet enthusiasm, empathy, and individualized interest in each student's success. She enjoys adjusting her teaching style to the personality, background, and learning approach of each student. Sophia is keen to help students with AP (or equivalent) Bio, Chem, AB/BC Calculus, Physics C, US/World/European History, French, and English Language/Composition. She is very flexible in timing & scheduling, and she is ready both to teach students material in mini-lectures as needed and to help with specific homework or test-taking concerns.
