About Marvin
About Me
With a degree in math and chemistry from Columbia University and over a decade of experience in the tech industry, I bring a unique blend of academic expertise and real-world knowledge to my tutoring. I have tutored over 50 students at various levels, from elementary school to high school, helping them develop a strong foundation in math and science.
In addition to my academic and teaching experience, I have worked for over 10 years in data science, engineering, and product management, including roles at Meta (Facebook). This hands-on experience in tech allows me to show students how the subjects they study apply to real-world challenges, particularly in STEM fields.
Outside of tutoring and tech, I am passionate about martial arts, surfing, and cooking—activities that help me stay balanced and bring creativity and discipline to both my work and teaching. Whether in academics or life, I believe in making learning a fun and engaging process, and I strive to inspire the same excitement in my students.

Each lesson is tailored to the individual needs of the student, whether we’re preparing for an upcoming exam, mastering fundamental concepts, or exploring advanced topics. I always leave time for questions and ensure the student has a solid grasp of the material before moving on.

Having coached a high school robotics team, I understand the importance of teamwork, innovation, and making learning exciting.
