About Xavier
I am a motivated student who enjoys helping others understand difficult concepts, especially in math. I am patient, dependable, and willing to explain problems in different ways until they make sense. As a student myself, I understand how frustrating math can feel, so I focus on creating a comfortable environment where students can ask questions, build confidence, and improve their problem-solving skills. I have experience in project management as well as being varsity track team captain/assistant coach so I know how to properly guide and lead others.

I believe the most effective way to tutor math students is to focus on understanding instead of memorization. I would first identify where a student is struggling, then explain the concept using clear steps and hands-on approach examples. I would encourage them to solve problems independently while I guide them when needed. I would ask questions to understand their thought process and correct mistakes early. I would also adjust my teaching style based on how each student learns best. My goal is to build their confidence, strengthen their problem-solving skills, and help them understand why each method works so they can succeed independently. As they say to teach is to learn!
