About Kiley
I’m Kiley, a Brown University graduate (Class of 2024) with majors in Health & Human Biology and Visual Art. I am currently applying to medical schools and bring both academic rigor and creativity to my teaching. With experience in research, clinical work, and tutoring, I make science approachable and engaging for middle school, high school, and college students. I also guide high schoolers through the college admissions process, helping them express their authentic voice with confidence. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where every student feels capable of reaching their potential.

My Approach as a Tutor
Teaching Method and Techniques:
I focus on creating an encouraging, structured learning environment where students feel confident asking questions and exploring new ideas. For sciences, I break down complex topics into clear steps and use active recall, practice problems, and real-world examples to deepen understanding. For admissions, I guide students through brainstorming, essay writing, and application strategy, always highlighting their authentic voice and unique strengths. My approach balances direct teaching with collaborative problem-solving so that students learn how to think, not just what to memorize.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Check-in (5 minutes): Review progress and outline goals for the session.
Core Work (30–40 minutes):
Middle/High School Sciences: Build conceptual understanding, walk through sample problems, and practice applying knowledge.
College Sciences: Dive deeper into complex concepts, strengthen study techniques, and apply material to real-world scenarios.
Admissions: Brainstorm ideas, refine essay drafts, or prepare for interviews with an emphasis on clarity, flow, and impact.
Application (10–15 minutes): Independent practice with guidance and feedback.
Wrap-up (5 minutes): Summarize main takeaways and set concrete goals before the next session.
What Sets Me Apart:
I bring a unique perspective as both a scientist and an artist. My background in research, clinical work, and writing allows me to make material engaging and to help students connect their learning to real-world contexts. I also understand the admissions process from firsthand experience and know how to help students present themselves with confidence. Beyond content, I prioritize building curiosity, resilience, and self-expression in every student.
Who the Lessons Are For:
Middle School Students: Science fundamentals, confidence-building, and preparation for high school coursework.
High School & College Students: Biology, chemistry, psychology, and related sciences, as well as support with study strategies and critical thinking.
High School Juniors & Seniors: College application support, including essay development, interview prep, and application strategy.
Recommendations

I worked with Kiley on my personal statement for college applications, and she was an incredible help throughout the entire process. She not only gave thoughtful feedback on my drafts, but also pushed me to refine my ideas until my essay truly reflected who I am. Her ability to balance honesty with encouragement made me feel confident in my writing, and I learned a lot from the way she broke down structure and flow. With her guidance, I submitted an application I was genuinely proud of—and I am now attending Boston University. I would highly recommend Kiley to anyone looking for support with college essays or tutoring in general.
I luckily stumbled upon Kiley while looking for extra help in chemistry, and I have greatly enjoyed working with her. As someone with ADHD, I appreciate that she takes an individualized approach, quickly identifying where support is most needed and explaining concepts based on your specific learning style. I was worried that I was taking a long time to understand certain concepts, but Kiley made me feel comfortable asking questions while teaching me effective study methods and problem-solving skills. I would say that Kiley is a patient, supportive, knowledgeable, and strategic tutor, and I would highly recommend her!
