About Aaryaa

I have a background in architecture, data science and neuro AI, which brings together how the brain learns and how artificial intelligence can support it. I graduated from Brown University with a master’s degree focused on neuroscience and AI, and founded Axial, a learning platform that maps how students think, which I developed with cognitive science faculty at Brown and Harvard.

I have been a personal tutor for 5 years, holding 1:1 and small-group sessions - both in person and online. I have designed learning programs for schools in India, worked as a teaching assistant at Brown, and taught AI to high school and middle school students with Inspirit AI.

I have taught children as young as 3 to think like programmers using LEGO bricks, and students about to start college to understand quadratic equations by designing basketball games. My first goal with any student is to find out how their brain learns best, irrespective of whether they have lost interest in a subject, fallen behind, or lost self-confidence. I then build our sessions around each student’s strengths and weaknesses.

Some students see a problem as a picture first and learn through diagrams (visual thinking), while others need to say it out loud (language). Some can work through steps mentally while others need to write things down (working memory). Some spot the pattern before they can explain it (reasoning), some invent a shortcut intuitively (creativity), and some know when an answer is wrong before they understand why (self-checking). After our first session, you receive a short written summary of these strengths and a plan for the weeks ahead.

The level of guidance is personalized to each student’s learning style and schedule. Some like more hand-holding and support, while others prefer a weekly check-in and homework they work through alone. I share monthly progress updates, and I can also provide a full cognitive map that tracks how a student’s learning develops.

Experience: I studied cognitive neuroscience at Brown University, where I completed my master’s degree, and founded a learning platform that maps how students think. I have taught students aged 3 to 18, from early learning curricula that have since reached more than 15,000 children across 7 countries to math and AI classes for high school students.

Lessons are for: students aged 11 to 18 in math, SAT math preparation, study skills, and introductory coding and AI, whether they need to catch up, build confidence, or rediscover why a subject is interesting.
