About Cristina

Like I mentioned, I graduated from Baylor University with my BSN and headed to Colorado for my first nursing job in 2019! I started off on a medical telemetry floor to get my basic nursing skills down and grow in time management. Covid hit and my unit became the Covid floor, so after about 6 months of that I took a break and worked in a clinic for the next 6 months. I decided I still wanted the autonomy and skills the hospital life had to offer, so after the clinic I started in the ICU. At this time the second wave of Covid was hitting and I gained all that experience quickly and while it was insanely hard, I loved the extent of knowledge you got to learn about each of your patients. The pathology fascinated me and I quickly became a preceptor and then later a charge nurse on this unit. After two years, I did some travel nursing out of state and then came back and did local ICU traveling. After 4 years of ICU, I am now working in the Cath lab procedural area to gain more experience.

About the lesson

I remember how difficult it was for things to “click” in nursing school at times. And realistically, you can only get so much out of clinicals… am I right? I have a wide variety of experience in critical care areas of nursing, as well as basic nursing skills and scenarios from a medical telemetry standpoint. I have been a charge nurse and preceptor for many years now and love making things make sense. If you need help solidifying your course content or just understanding certain concepts, I can help you learn the why that makes everything stick so you can ace the demanding nursing school classes!
