About Isaac

I am Isaac Kaufman, a graduate from Appalachian State University with a degree in chemistry (concentration in biochemistry), and I want to, and will help you excel in your classes. I understand the commitment, discipline, and hard work required to excel in your classes. However, I also understand the importance of enjoying your time, and the fulfillment of achieving the grades that you so desire.

A few years ago, I found myself stuck, I was barely passing organic chemistry I, and I had dreams of being a doctor. So what did I do? I did what every other 19 year old would do, I told people it wasn't meant to be and began looking to change my major. A marketing degree seemed perfect, I could spend more time with my friends and I would graduate without failing any classes. I began to compose an email to my advisor, excited to step into, what I considered, an "easier" major, but something stopped me. That "something" was my dream of being a doctor, and the realization that the only way to have a chance of that was to push through this adversity and achieve the grades I needed.

So, I sat down and studied, figured out what worked for me and by the time the next test day came, I made a 70%. Barely any better than I was doing before, but now, I was not willing to give up so easy. So I kept on working, kept on struggling, and I successfully, and on my own, figured out how to study for courses that seemed impossible to even pass. From that class on (my sophomore year of college), I did not make anything less than an A-, 2 A-'s to be exact. If you want to learn, if you want to succeed, I will show you how. I have struggled, I was not a gifted student, however, I became one, and I will make you one.

About the lesson

I understand the struggle of not understanding chemistry and biology classes. I too struggled in college, however, I found what worked for me and scored in the top of all of my chemistry and biology classes. Active recall and space repetition is a key part of learning many subjects, with this, I will teach you not only the keys to understanding these challenging subjects, but how to get the things you learn to stick!
