About Sydney
Hello! My name is Sydney. I am a university graduate within the Arts (Honors) program. I majored in English Literature, minored in Visual Arts, and hold an emphasis in Education. I have also earned a certification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. Over the past 4 years, I have taught students all around the world. Working with many types of learners both in person and online has shaped my instruction techniques to adapt to each student.

As a tutor, I provide lessons that are student-centered, focusing on building confidence and assurance in themselves. Meeting students at their initial level, I strive to identify their strengths and challenges, tailoring lessons to support their learning style and goals. Each lesson encourages discussion-based learning in order to help understand and retain material with real-time feedback. Depending on the learning style of each student, various aids such as video, audio, or a hands-on approach are incorporated. At the beginning of each lesson, a quick check-in with a review of the last session will be conducted. An outline of the present session's goals will be highlighted, blending with the goals of the individual student. Feedback is constantly provided, ending each lesson with takeaways and techniques that can aid students in lessons to come. Holding a background in English Literature with an emphasis on teaching, I have obtained a vast amount of experience teaching a wide array of subjects to all grades. I have worked with all types of learners and have adapted lessons to allow for students to thrive in their education.
