About Samiya

I am a recent graduate in English Language and Literature from University College London, who achieved 79% overall across the course of my degree, including 80% in my dissertation, and a wealth of experience in mentoring younger students and tutoring them. Across my experience, I have tutored both A-Level and GCSE students, and have experience working through personal statements and university admissions exams.

About the lesson

I have an understanding-based approach, ensuring students gain a comprehensive understanding of their content before working to enhance and perfect their exam technique. I would prefer to have a higher frequency of lessons for students working at a higher academic level, such as A-Level, and particularly focusing on an exam-based approach alongside the importance of understanding.

Samiya is such an amazing tutor! You can clearly tell how passionate she is about English, and this is shown deeply through her teaching. She teaches in a way that helps you find a love for the English language, rather than simply learning to pass your exams. I find her way of teaching to be so encapsulating and interesting. She also goes out her way to help me with other extracurricular tasks such as proofreading my personal statement and work.

Samiya is an exceptional English tutor. Her sheer excellence with the subject as well as her concise explanations have really helped me come to grips with a subject that I found difficult. She has a strong understanding of all the set texts I've needed to know about, and has been so helpful going through my essays. Thanks Samiya!
