About Allan
I am a newcomer to the National University of Colombia. I have a double bachelor's degree: one here in Colombia and the other in the United States where I studied for two years at College Park High School. In both countries I always harvest excellent marks and recognitions. For example, here in Colombia I won an Andres Bello recognition for my ICFES and in the USA. I graduated with a Bilingual stamp; among other recognitions.

The first thing one must take into account when teaching a language is the fact that is not easy for everyone. That's why a language teacher must use a flexible methodology that adapts to the student's strong points; some people learn visually, others learn listening, others through translations, etc. We're all different, and we all have favorite learning methods. However, there are two things that everyone must do when learning a language: speaking and listening; we must do these two action constantly in order to improve. To integrate the language we have to learn into our daily conversations with either someone else or ourselves is the best way to train our brain, so it assimilates the language in a natural way. That's why my first objective is to provide my student with new language through speaking and other activities, and then motivate him/her to use the acquired vocab in our conversations. We all learn form out mistakes, and the students must always have this present if they want to improve. No one speaks a new language from the beginning, because of it my ultimate goal is to make it clear to my students and give them confidence in themselves so they practice the language without hesitation.
