About Davey
Welcome! I am Davey, a PhD student at Cardiff University. I understand the struggles that come with learning these subjects firsthand. My journey from struggling to confident has inspired me to guide students through similar challenges. I believe in creating a safe space where questions are encouraged, fostering an environment where curiosity thrives above all else. With a deep-rooted appreciation for Physics and Maths, I aim to help students of all backgrounds and abilities understand difficult concepts in an engaging way, and show them that these subjects needn't be impossibly boring. I enjoy tailoring my lessons to the needs of each student. I'll use pictures and diagrams if you need a visual learning experience (which can often be needed in Physics and Maths to get a physical interpretation of tricky concepts); however, if you prefer a more hands-on approach, I'll try to provide you as many practice questions as I can. Depending on the student's needs, a session may last anywhere between one and two hours. My previous experience involves tutoring and class demonstrations during my undergraduate studies. Additionally, I have taken part in outreach schemes aimed at encouraging young people to pursue STEM fields. I can tutor at GCSE and A-level grade but would need to familiarize myself on the current GCSE and A-level curricula ahead of our first session.
