About Rohan

I specialised in Neuroscience and Organic Chemistry in my Natural Sciences degree and I have a keen interest in theoretical and computational neuroscience. I have recently acquired a deep interest in coding, biophysics, and mathematical techniques, as they apply to neural systems, and I hope to pursue a career in neuroscience research following a master's degree and PhD in neuroscience/biomedical engineering. Throughout my time learning, I have found that a lot of things I have found to be the most interesting were from lectures or lessons delivered by the most engaging teachers! After all, science is definitely most fun when you understand it! Outside of academia, I love drumming, playing football, hockey, or cricket, and going out with my friends :)

About the lesson

I have been doing private tuition for about 4 years now and really enjoy spreading the excitement of learning about science with my tutees! I typically teach either in either 1 hour or 2 hour sessions, depending on the tutee and use a variety of methods to engage my students when teaching them difficult concepts. I always endeavour to create a constructive and positive learning environment and to test my students to ensure that they have understood the content of the lesson. I provide comprehensive feedback on lessons and have cultivated a "How to Revise" booklet for my tutees. I most commonly teach (I)GCSE and A-Level students, but also teach 11+ and 13+.

Details

Outside of my hourly fee, the only other main cost is my "How to Revise" booklet. I created this booklet during my undergraduate degree to encourage students to take their learning into their own hands, providing a framework within which to do so. The cost of the booklet is £60 and it is optional. I am also happy to provide support with UK university applications, including mock interviews, admissions test preparation, and personal statement tutoring upon request.
