About Mikayla

Hi, I’m Mikayla Trujillo-Baxter — and I’m not your average English tutor.

I was born and raised in the Southwest U.S. with deep Mexican roots, and I’ve spent time teaching in Colombia and working with students from all over Latin America. I know what it feels like to be caught between languages — to have the words almost there, but not quite. That’s why I teach with patience, cultural understanding, and real-life connection.

Hola, soy Mikayla Trujillo-Baxter — y no soy una tutora de inglés común.

Crecí en el suroeste de Estados Unidos, con raíces mexicanas fuertes, y he enseñado inglés en Colombia y trabajado con estudiantes de toda América Latina. Sé lo que se siente estar entre dos idiomas — tener la idea, pero no encontrar la palabra. Por eso enseño con paciencia, comprensión cultural y conexión real.

Hola! Soy Mikayla, tutora bilingüe de inglés, nacida en EE. UU., con raíces mexicanas y experiencia reciente viviendo y trabajando en Colombia. He ayudado a estudiantes hispanohablantes de todos los niveles — desde quienes empiezan a hablar hasta jóvenes que se preparan para viajar, estudiar o trabajar.

Me enfoco en la confianza, la claridad, y el inglés real del día a día.
