About Andrew
Hi! I'm Andrew and I started teaching in 2019, since which I have amassed 12 students from my village alone, 8 of whom I still teach virtually now that I've moved away. I've had 2 students sit and comfortably pass their grade 1 exams in the past year alone and have 3 who are now studying at a grade 2-3 level. My teaching style encourages my students to not stress about having lessons as they can be themselves during lessons, which I believe yields a higher engagement level to their playing and encourages a genuine enjoyment for the subject.

My approach to teaching is to push the level of my students as much as possible yet prioritising maintaining their interest in the field. This means that I'm willing to teach a range of styles from classical to pop, and that the student has a huge say in what type of material they learn, so long as they show a willingness to put energy into their playing. I've been teaching mainly in-person piano since before lockdown but after that have resorted to online lessons; my typical lesson length is half an hour but I can happily go for longer.

Perfect! Andrew did a good assessment of my current (and limited) knowledge and has tailored his teaching approach to fit my learning speed, while ensuring that I am motivated to learn more.
