About Skye

Hi! I'm a high school student in Bradford with a passion for French and a love of reading, writing, history, working out, and music — I like to keep busy!

I've been learning French since Grade 1, and I'm proud to say I've kept a 90%+ average! I didn't do this by memorizing, but by taking the time to actually understand the language. That's the same approach I bring to tutoring.

What I love most is watching students grow in confidence. I know how overwhelming French can feel, but with the right support and a plan built around you, it gets easier, and maybe even enjoyable..!

About the lesson

My tutoring is best suited for elementary and middle school students at any level. Whether you're just starting or trying to push your grade higher, I can help!

I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to tutoring. Every student learns differently, and my job is to figure out how you learn best and build lessons around that! In our very first session, I'll assess your current French knowledge, identify your strengths, and identify the gaps we need to fill together. I will finish by agreeing on a clear, achievable goal. From there, every lesson is designed with that goal in mind!

Sessions are structured but flexible. We'll start with a quick review of what was covered last time, then move into the main focus of the day; this could be drilling a grammar concept, practising conversation, working through writing, or tackling some tough homework your teacher assigned. I adjust the pace and content based on how you're progressing, not how fast I think you should be going.

Some examples of goals we can work toward together include:
- Understanding and applying conjugation rules
- Building conversational fluency
- Improving French writing skills
- Learning to do math in French (French Immersion)

I've been learning French for 11 years with a 90%+ average throughout. More importantly, I haven't just learned French in a classroom. I've travelled to French-speaking places and held real conversations with native speakers, which means I understand the difference between textbook French and French that actually works in the real world. I know what it takes to improve because I've gone through that process myself.
