About Olivia
I am a college student and have just finished my A Level exams. I am set to get an A* grade in English Literature and Language combined A level, and received a grade 9 in English language and a grade 8 in English literature at GCSE level. While I haven't undertaken any paid private tutoring, I have frequently supported friends and, most recently, my younger sister in this subject. My sister improved her grade from a 6 to a 7 in her most recent mocks, but more importantly gained in confidence in her set texts and her ability to write critical essays. As someone who has just sat exams, I feel my tutoring will be extremely effective as I have experience not only in revising the content, but can also offer advice in terms of time management, structuring essays etc.

I will be offering tutoring for Edexcel English Language/literature students at A level and both WJEC/Edexcel English qualifications at GCSE level. Upon employment, I would ask the student to send me one of their most recent essays so I could identify any gaps they may have, and ask if they would also identify for me any areas they feel they would really like to focus on in the sessions. My sessions would cover a range of skills including writing creatively, comparing and contrasting two texts and critically evaluating them, how to structure essays and how to critically evaluate the set texts for each course. I would also ensure we created at least one revision resource each session to summarise learning and reduce stress by the time exam season comes around

Details
Cancellations require 24 hours notice otherwise the fee of £15 must still be paid.
Materials like set texts, paper for revision resources, flashcards etc. must be provided, but I will let students know what materials are needed far before the session so they have time to prepare.
