About David
My name is David Pak. I am an incoming software engineer at Google. I hold a Bachelor's in Computer Science from the University of Washington. I completed 4 internships during my undergraduate studies, two of them from Amazon.
I was also a coding instructor at Coding with Kids for two years, where I taught fundamentals in Python, Java, C#, and data structures and algorithms.
I have been coding for around 7 years now, and I focus on helping students build strong fundamentals, confidence, and independent problem-solving skills. My goal is to equip students with the tools and mindset needed to succeed both academically and in real-world software development. My hope is not just that students become great programmers, but also that they will develop a love and passion for coding that may not have been there before.

I believe first and foremost in student autonomy - students should understand why something works, not just how to follow steps. My teaching emphasizes strong fundamentals, consistency, and disciplined problem-solving.
Lessons typically begin with concept breakdowns, followed by guided examples, and hands-on coding, with a focus on reading, writing, and debugging real code. I adapt pacing based on the student’s level and goals, whether that’s building confidence, mastering core computer science concepts, or preparing for technical interviews.
I work best with motivated middle school, high school, and college students who want to build a solid foundation in programming, data structures, and systems thinking, using real-world examples drawn from industry experience.
