About Srilasya
I am an author and ghostwriter with over 8 years of tutoring experience working with students across a wide academic range. Over the past 3 years, 9 of the books I have ghostwritten have been published. In the past year, I have served as a co-author on several additional books, with 3 more scheduled for publication this year and next. Writing at that level requires precision, structure, and deep analytical thinking, which are the same skills I bring into my teaching.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice, along with significant academic focus in biology and neuroscience. I also hold a Master of Public Administration and a Master of Business Administration. My academic and professional background allows me to move comfortably between the humanities, sciences, and applied disciplines.
My youngest current student is in 5th grade, and my oldest is completing a master’s degree in public health. Teaching developed naturally for me over time, and I am grateful that it did. I genuinely value helping students think more clearly, reason more deeply, and grow in confidence.
When I am not tutoring, I run a consulting practice where I serve as an embedded internal management team for startups and nonprofits, leading venture building and growth strategy. Whether in business or education, my work centers on structure, clarity, and thoughtful decision-making.

No two students learn the same way, so no two lesson plans look the same. Each student receives a fully customized learning plan built around their strengths, gaps, goals, and learning style. Before beginning regular sessions, I take time to understand where they are academically and what is actually holding them back, so we focus on the root issue rather than just the next assignment.
For many younger students, the challenge is not basic comprehension. They can summarize what they read, but they struggle to analyze it, explain why it matters, or connect it to broader ideas. In those cases, we focus on strengthening critical thinking and deeper reasoning skills. For other students, the difficulty is foundational comprehension, especially when texts use complex or abstract language. In those situations, we slow down, break apart the structure of the passage, and strengthen understanding at the sentence and paragraph level.
Sometimes I intentionally combine subjects when it supports overall growth. For example, I work with an eighth grade student who struggles with social studies. In our English sessions, we use her social studies material to strengthen both her writing and her understanding of the content, allowing her to improve in two areas at once. Whether we follow the school curriculum closely or step back to rebuild foundational skills depends entirely on what will serve the student best.

My son started working with this tutor in 10th grade when he was having a hard time keeping up with AP Biology and Honors Literature. He has always been a strong student, but he needed some extra help to really do well in those classes, especially in writing. He was also trying to enter a writing competition at the time, so we were looking for someone who could guide him.
She was amazing from the start. She helped him understand the material better, but more importantly, she helped him become a stronger and more confident writer. She knew how to push him without overwhelming him, and he really responded to that.
What I appreciated most is that she stayed with him all the way through high school. She helped him with his college applications and gave him great advice throughout the process. She also worked with him on writing and helped him publish his own book, which was a huge accomplishment and really helped his applications stand out.
In the end, he was accepted into Duke, and I truly believe her support played a big role in that. I am very grateful we found her and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a tutor who really cares and goes above and beyond.I worked with her when I was in undergrad for ENGL 1102 and biology. She was honestly one of the best tutors I’ve had. She was really good at figuring out exactly why I was struggling and fixing it quickly instead of just going over the material again.
What I appreciated most was how she combined biology topics with writing practice. She helped me improve my writing skills by using bio subjects, which made everything click a lot better. It didn’t feel overwhelming and it actually made sense.View more recommendations
