About Alex

I am a drum instructor with 15 years' of experience and a Bachelor of Music Education. My passion lies in helping students grow from their very first beat. I’ve worked with children, teens, and adults from all different backgrounds. My lessons prioritise clear understanding, steady improvement, and musical enjoyment. I break techniques down into small, achievable steps. My teaching emphasises good posture, stick control, and rhythmic accuracy. I believe anyone can learn drums with the right guidance. My approach includes playing songs you like alongside essential skill-building drills. I enjoy adapting lessons to match each student’s learning style.

Whether you want to perform, join a band, or play for fun, I can help you reach your goal. I also guide students through practice routines that build confidence. I value consistent communication with students and families. My studio environment is friendly and encouraging. I love seeing students progress and discover their musical identity. Drumming has changed my life, and I’d love to share that joy with you.

About the lesson

My drum lessons are structured to develop technical proficiency, musical expression, and performance readiness for students of all levels. I work with beginners building solid foundations, intermediates refining their coordination and timing, and advanced players preparing for performances, auditions, or studio work. Lessons cover essential techniques, including stick control, hand independence, groove, dynamic control, rhythm reading, and expressive phrasing. I incorporate song practice, improvisation, exercises, and play-alongs to ensure a well-rounded, practical approach. Students receive structured practice routines, guidance on efficient improvement, and strategies for measuring progress and reaching milestones. I emphasise listening skills, musical analysis, and ensemble readiness, preparing students to perform confidently in any setting.

My teaching environment is professional yet supportive, motivating students to explore their creativity while maintaining discipline. Each lesson strengthens both technical ability and musicality, helping students develop their own style, versatility, and confidence. Drumming is not only a technical skill but a medium for artistic expression and communication. Lessons are designed to cultivate independence, focus, and professional-level competence, making each session productive, inspiring, and rewarding.
