About Bettina

I am a native German speaker with a passion for language, storytelling and learning. Teaching gives me great joy because I love seeing how students grow in confidence as they discover a new language and culture.

Over the years I have worked in education and course design in Australia and Europe, and I enjoy creating learning environments that are supportive, engaging and encouraging. For me, language is not only about grammar and vocabulary – it is also about communication, curiosity and connecting with the world.

I enjoy helping students find their own way into the German language, whether they are learning for school, travel, work or personal interest. Each learner is different, and I like adapting lessons to make learning both effective and enjoyable.

Seeing students understand something new, express themselves more freely, and gradually feel comfortable using the language is the most rewarding part of teaching for me.

About the lesson

My approach to teaching German is practical, structured and supportive. As a native German speaker and experienced educator, I focus on helping students build confidence step by step while enjoying the learning process.

In my lessons, we combine reading, writing, vocabulary and conversation. I use a mix of guided exercises, real-life examples and interactive activities so that students can actively practice the language rather than just memorise it. I also adapt each lesson to the learner’s goals, whether it is improving school performance, preparing for travel, strengthening grammar or simply gaining confidence in speaking German.

A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although shorter or longer sessions can also be arranged depending on your needs. I usually structure lessons in three parts: revisiting previous learning, introducing new vocabulary or grammar, and applying it through practical exercises or conversation.

I have many years of experience designing and teaching courses in Australia and Europe, including in higher education. This background helps me create lessons that are clear, engaging and tailored to each student’s learning style.

My lessons are suitable for school students, university students and adults at beginner, intermediate or advanced levels who would like to improve their German reading, writing, vocabulary and communication skills.

The hourly rate for my lessons is $65 AUD per hour. This includes a personalised one-to-one lesson tailored to your learning goals, level and interests.

Each session is carefully structured and may include reading exercises, vocabulary building, writing practice and conversation to help you develop confidence in using German in real situations. I also prepare materials and exercises in advance to support your progress.

Lessons are suitable for beginners, intermediate and advanced learners, including school students, university students and adults who would like to improve their German for study, travel, work or personal interest.

A typical lesson runs for 60 minutes, but longer sessions can also be arranged if you prefer more intensive learning. The focus is always on creating a supportive learning environment where you can practice freely, ask questions and progress step by step.

Your first lesson can also be used to discuss your goals and create a learning plan that suits your needs.
