About Sheida

I am a dedicated tutor with a degree in languages and data science, and I have taught English, Latin, 11+, creative writing, and debating and persuasive writing to students of all ages and abilities. I also design and lead interactive courses for secondary school students, so I am confident teaching both one-to-one and in groups.

I teach because I love seeing students grow in confidence. So often, a student who believes they can't do something, simply needs the right explanation, encouragement and practice to realise how capable they are. Helping them reach that moment, and watching their progress follow, is what I find most rewarding.

I am patient, organised and encouraging. I create a supportive space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and pushing themselves further. Outside of teaching, I love learning languages and reading, and I enjoy passing that curiosity on to my students.

My lessons are interactive, encouraging and tailored to each student’s goals. I focus on clear explanations and active practice, so students build real understanding rather than just memorising.

A typical lesson starts with a quick recap of the last session, followed by a new skill or topic explained step by step. Students then practise with guided tasks, such as analysing a text, planning an essay or answering exam-style questions, before we finish by reviewing what went well and setting clear next steps.

I teach English Language and Literature, creative writing, persuasive writing and debating, Latin and 11+ preparation, for students from primary school through to GCSE. Whether a student needs help with exam technique, building confidence or developing a love of reading and writing, I adapt my approach to suit how they learn best.
