About Caitlyn
My path to tutoring wasn't a straight line — and I think that's made me better at it. I began in American Studies academia before moving through a variety of roles in museum and non-profit spaces, work that deepened my appreciation for how people learn and engage with ideas outside a traditional classroom.
Eventually, that path led me back to my longstanding passion: teaching.
Since then, I've worked across more than a dozen charter schools throughout the city, supporting students from a wide range of backgrounds, grade levels, and learning needs.
That experience has shaped a tutoring approach that's broadly informed but never generic — I bring what I've learned about diverse learners and demographics to every student, while tailoring each session to their individual goals and challenges.

Every student learns differently — and that's exactly where I start. I offer individualized tutoring in English and Social Studies for students from elementary through high school (and beyond), with particular experience supporting students with learning disabilities.
Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, I build each lesson plan around your student's specific challenges and goals — blending their existing coursework with supplementary materials chosen to fit how they actually learn best.
✓ Experience across grade levels and skill levels
✓ Specialized support for students with learning disabilities
✓ Individualized lesson planning, not cookie-cutter worksheets
✓ Strong background in English and Social Studies content
Whether your student needs help catching up, staying on track, or being challenged further, I'll meet them where they are.
