About Ryan

I am a plant genetic engineer doing a PhD at Cardiff University, and have a masters degree in genetics.

I have taught in person at Cardiff University during practical classes, given or assisted in seminars and workshops, and often work during open days to explain the courses to prospective students.

About the lesson

My teaching method will depend mostly on the age of the student(s).

I tend to try and focus on developing an understanding of the topic through rational thinking rather than fact recall, often through analogies for younger students, as this worked for me.

I am more than happy to trial different things with students to find a tailored learning approach that works on an individual level.

Learning should be applied in various scenarios, and I will always try to include a real life scenario showing how everything being learnt is useful, whether directly or through principle.
