About Seamus
Hi, I am a university student currently studying Actuarial Science in Heriot-Watt University. I achieved an A* in A-Level Maths and I am passionate about helping students improve their understanding and confidence in maths.
I teach GCSE Maths, GCSE Further Maths and A-Level Maths online. Having just recently completed these courses myself, I understand the challenges that students face and the areas of the courses that many students struggle with.
Personally, I enjoy breaking down difficult topics into simpler steps and helping students build confidence through practice and clear explanations. As a student myself, I understand the stress and anxiety that comes with exams and mathematics in general, so I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.

My lessons are focused on building understanding, confidence and overall strong exam technique. I know from my own experiences at GCSE and A-Level that maths can be overwhelming, so I aim to explain concepts clearly and patiently to every student and aim to tailor-make every lesson to what my students need.
I have an A* in A-Level Maths and I can teach A-Level maths, alongside GCSE Maths & GCSE Further Maths. Alongside this, I have tutored many maths students before, and therefore know that mathematics isn't a linear learning curve and I acknowledge that every student is different and will teach accordingly to each student.
A typical lesson may include:
- Reviewing key concepts
- Working through examples step-by-step
- Exam-style questions
- Going through mistakes carefully to improve understanding
Lessons will be an hour in length and online.
