About Lorenz
I’m a Biology tutor with 6 years of experience helping students succeed from GCSE to university level. I teach across AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and university modules, covering everything from cell biology and genetics to biochemistry, and ecology.
Over the past 6 years I’ve supported students to jump from grade 4 to 7, secure A-Level A* grades for medicine applications, and master complex degree content. My approach is clear and spec-driven. We break down tough topics like respiration, photosynthesis, protein synthesis, and the nervous system into simple diagrams and logical steps. Then we apply them with past-paper questions, data analysis, and required practical skills.
Lessons are patient, structured, and tailored to how you learn. I focus on exam technique, 6-mark and 25-mark answer structure, maths skills in biology, and how to link topics for synoptic questions. University students get help with lab reports, literature reviews, and interpreting primary research. With 6 years of experience, I know exactly where misconceptions happen and how to fix them. My lessons make Biology click by showing you how everything connects. From GCSE enzymes and ecosystems to A-Level gene expression and homeostasis, to University cell signalling and biotechnology, we learn through visuals, stories, and patterns, not just memorisation.
We use annotated diagrams, timelines, and comparison tables to map out processes. I explain the “why” behind each topic. Why does active transport need ATP? Why do mutations affect proteins? Why do populations change? Once the logic is clear, recall gets easier. Every lesson includes guided practice with exam-style questions, data graphs, and practical scenarios.
I adapt to your pace. If you’re stuck on microscopy calculations, heart structure, or chi-squared tests, we rebuild from basics with worked examples. If you’re aiming for an A* or a first, we add extension links, evaluative points, and critical analysis of studies.
Lessons are relaxed and interactive. We draw, label, and talk through cycles until you can teach them back to me. You’ll get help with long-answer structure, practical write-ups, and revision systems that work for content-heavy subjects. Biology stops being a list of facts and becomes a subject you can think through. That’s when grades go up and confidence follows.
