About Khizar

Hi, I’m Dr. Khizar Shahzad. I’m a highly experienced tutor for GCSE and A-Level Maths, Biology and Chemistry, teaching both in tuition centres and one-to-one for many years. Alongside tutoring, I’ve worked in schools with a wide range of learners, including students with special educational needs, and I adapt lessons to suit different learning styles, confidence levels, and attention spans. I’m strongly results-focused. My teaching style is calm, structured, and built around exam technique and exam-style practice, not just “going through the content”. I also support students applying for sixth forms and university, including Medicine and Dentistry applications (UCAT, personal statement guidance, and interview preparation). I’ve helped students apply across the UK, and one of the best parts of tutoring is hearing from them on results day when they get the grades and offers they wanted.

About the lesson

I create a structured, personalised study plan based on:
• The topics the student is currently studying at school
• Weak areas and gaps in knowledge • Target grade and exam board requirements
• Performance in school mocks and in-lesson checks
• Homework and time available before exams

Typical lesson structure (very exam-focused)
1. Check-in + review: mark homework, recap last lesson, fix any misunderstandings
2. Teach the topic from foundations (clear explanations, simple language) 3. Guided exam questions: we build difficulty step-by-step with exam-style practice
4. Independent exam practice (timed where appropriate) + feedback on method marks
5. Action plan + homework: targeted questions and a clear “what to improve next” list

The goal is always the same: strong understanding + strong exam performance. You’ll learn how to pick up marks consistently, avoid common traps, and feel confident under timed conditions.
