About Joe

I am a budding Mathematician currently studying Maths, Further Maths, Economics and French at A-level, with dreams of working in Finance in the future since I particularly love statistics! I am very strong in Algebra, as well as all the other aspects of Maths, and my previous students have always achieved top grades. I am proud to say I achieved Grade 9 in both Maths and Further Maths at GCSE level, I am working at an A* in A-Level Maths, and an A in A-Level Further Maths, and I am looking to study Financial Mathematics and Statistics at LSE or UCL next year.

I am clear and patient, aided by my bilingualism, and I love to see young Mathematicians improve and flourish. I have a younger brother and previous experience working with young children.

I also love sports! I play Football at Semi-Pro level, as well as Tennis and Snooker. This is what helps me relax while studying for my A-levels, and has helped me develop communication skills and a hard-working attitude.

About the lesson

My approach to Maths tutoring is clear, structured, and focused on deep understanding. I believe students perform best when they fully understand why a method works, not just how to apply it. I break complex topics down into logical, step-by-step processes and ensure students are confident with the foundations before moving on to harder exam-style questions.

A typical lesson begins with a quick recap of previous material to reinforce retention, followed by guided examples where I model clear working and exam technique. We then move to targeted practice questions, gradually increasing in difficulty. For exam students, I place strong emphasis on mark schemes, common mistakes, and how to structure solutions to maximise marks — especially for multi-step algebra, calculus, and problem-solving questions.

Lessons are usually 60 minutes, which provides enough time to review, teach, and practice effectively. For students preparing for GCSE or A-level exams, I also offer 90-minute sessions focused on past papers and timed practice.

I tutor GCSE and A-level Maths, including topics such as algebra, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, and mechanics. As a high-achieving Maths student myself, I understand the demands of achieving top grades and how to approach challenging questions efficiently and methodically.

My lessons are ideal for students who want to:
• Strengthen their core understanding
• Improve exam technique
• Build confidence with harder problem-solving questions
• Achieve top grades

I aim to create a focused but supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing real mathematical confidence.
