About Eli

Hi, I’m Eli — a passionate and experienced Maths tutor with over 250 hours of tutoring experience. I’ve worked with students from Year 6 to Year 11, helping them build confidence, master exam technique, and achieve top grades. I achieved 12 A*s at GCSE and A*A*A*A at A-level (Maths, Further Maths, Economics and Physics). Iam currently pursuing my BSc in Economics at UCL. I love making Maths approachable and engaging, and I tailor my lessons to each student’s individual learning style. My goal is always to create a positive learning environment where students feel motivated to improve and enjoy the subject. Whether you’re aiming for a Grade 5 or a Grade 9, I’ll help you get there with structured lessons, clear explanations, and plenty of practice.

About the lesson

I have tutored many students throughout my high school career, years 6-11. (have had 10+ students and 250+ hrs tutoring in person) I really enjoy helping students develop their maths skills, and have experience with kids of all different abilities. I am very familiar with the GCSE Edexcel exam board for maths, but am also able to tutor GCSE AQA and OCR maths. I completed my A-levels this summer and so am waiting to get my official qualifications to tutor A-levels, but am fully confident with the Edexcel A-level Maths specification. For older pupils, lessons generally start with questions that they may have struggled with in class and then I am guided by the students' needs. If it is a specific topic they are struggling with we access online resources together, go through some practice questions and make sure understanding is precise and crystal clear. To end sessions I provide them with useful websites they can use to revise and potentially some questions to follow up and make sure the techniques covered are ingrained into memory. We can then do a practice question(s) on the topic in the following session as a quick starter before moving on and progressing through their syllabus. As exam season approaches we will begin walking through past papers that students complete either independently or in lesson and identify key areas of weakness that we can further strengthen before the exams kick off.
