About Ethan

I am a Physics student at the University of Manchester and I have a deep passion for Maths and Physics. I love teaching these subjects because I believe my unique understanding and intuitive approach can help students grasp difficult concepts more clearly. My goal is to make learning engaging, insightful, and accessible, especially for those who find these subjects challenging. I genuinely enjoy working with students to develop their skills and confidence, and I find tutoring to be an incredibly rewarding and fulfilling experience. Watching students grow in their understanding and ability is what drives me to teach.

About the lesson

My approach focuses on building a strong foundation of understanding, rather than just memorising formulas. I guide students through small, manageable problems, gradually increasing complexity. This helps them develop problem-solving skills, confidently tackle any question, and clear up misunderstandings along the way. By working up from simpler problems, maths and physics become less intimidating, helping students build confidence and strengthen their skills. I tailor my teaching to each student's ability level—whether they need extra support or are looking for a challenge. I have a year of experience tutoring GCSE maths students, and as a student who achieved 9s at GCSE and A*s at A-Level, I understand exactly how to study effectively and prepare for exams. I teach GCSE and A-Level Maths & Physics, with lessons that are typically 1 hour long. However, I also offer shorter or longer sessions depending on the student’s needs. My goal is to make learning engaging, challenging, and enlightening for every student.
