I am a just-retired teacher with 40 years experience teaching and tutoring in New York City and Gainesville, Florida. I try to work with students on their level of understanding and build from there.I know that every student is different and I approach each one as an individual.

My teaching method is based on a blend of working on procedural mastery and conceptual understanding.
Automatic recall/fluency with basic facts is essential in math and needs procedural practice until mastered. Concepts need to be developed through understandings of lessons and problem solving situations.
