About Lisa
I absolutely love helping my students learn and understand new English vocabulary. I am friendly and patient and, best of all, FUNNY! Building confidence is my number one priority because I understand that every student is unique and has their own level of learning. I like to engage my students in conversations that interest and inspire them because that's the best way to get them talking. I like to use a variety of materials to help in my teaching but mostly I choose reading as my main focus.

Typically, I'd like to divide my lessons into two parts. The first 30 minutes will consist of an introduction to new vocabulary words. This can be done in many forms but mainly through reading and sentence building. The next 30 minutes will focus on pronunciation of those words. I like to use syllables to help break up sounds and make them easier for my students to pronounce. My classes are best for beginner and intermediate level Brazilian and Portuguese speaking students and students who have trouble remembering the words to use when trying to have conversations. I also teach idioms and Phrasal verbs about everyday situations.
