About Carla
My name is Carla, I am 19 years old, and I would love to help you learn Spanish. I am completely bilingual because I have lived in Spain my entire life, but half of my family is English, so I frequently visited the UK. I am currently a student of Biomedical Sciences at a UK university.
I did a French and Spanish Baccalaureate during which I found it challenging to learn French. This made me realise why having a great teacher is so important. I was willing to put in the effort, but I needed someone to guide me and tailor the exercises to my needs. This is why I decided to become a tutor.
I make the learning process enjoyable as well as effective and I really like helping my students succeed. I love teaching my native language and getting to know my students. I want them to feel supported during the journey that is learning a new language.

I would like to show you how fun learning a language can be and how easy it is when someone is there to help you every step of the way. I have been teaching private lessons to children / teens between the ages of 7 and 14 for more than 4 years. I have also taken part as a volunteer in an immersion programme for 3 consecutive years, where I spent two weeks teaching Spanish to teenagers. Furthermore, I have completed a 120-hour online TEFL certification course which equipped me with the best methods to teach a foreign language both to children and adults.
I usually create a PowerPoint presentation with a certain theme (you can choose it if you want!). Each presentation has activities that will allow us to work on a variety of skills from reading and writing to speaking and listening. My lessons typically last an hour. I will adapt my lesson plan to each of my students so that I can satisfy individual needs. I want my students to really enjoy the lessons and look forwards to learning a new language.

Perfect! Carla is great, very patient and teaches at the pace you learn at and happy to go over things multiple times, which really helps me. Have already bought more lessons and I can already see an improvements in my speaking skills, can currently speak "conversational" Spanish after living there but want to develop reading, writing and grammar skills to build a better foundation. Will be 100% fluent in no time with Carla's help!
