About Cara
I am a dedicated and enthusiastic educator with a strong passion for teaching and language learning. Through my teaching experience, I have developed a dynamic and adaptable approach to the classroom, ensuring that lessons are both engaging and effective for a wide range of learners. What I enjoy most about teaching is the opportunity to support students as they grow in confidence and ability, particularly when helping them overcome language barriers and reach their individual goals.
Currently, I am working towards completing a 200-hour Advanced TEFL Diploma with TEFL.org, due to finish in September 2025. This training has deepened my understanding of teaching methodologies, lesson planning, grammar instruction, and classroom management. It has also strengthened my ability to create learner-focused lessons that are both practical and motivating.
Throughout my teaching journey, I have developed strong communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills, as well as a deep appreciation for cultural awareness and adaptability—qualities that are essential for creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. I am committed to continual growth as an educator and excited to bring my skills, energy, and TEFL training into new teaching opportunities

In my current role at an English learning centre, I teach English to Korean students ranging from 8 years old to adult learners. My classes are tailored to suit a wide range of ages and proficiency levels, with a strong focus on developing the four core language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
To deliver engaging and effective lessons, I use a variety of teaching strategies that cater to different learning styles, including interactive activities, role-playing, guided reading, pair and group work, and communicative language tasks. Lessons are structured to create a balance between skill-building and real-life application, with regular opportunities for students to practice conversational English in both academic and social contexts.
I incorporate a wide range of resources into my teaching, including digital tools, authentic materials (videos, songs, articles), and interactive whiteboard software. I also make use of AI-powered platforms and apps to support individualised learning—providing instant feedback, vocabulary building exercises, pronunciation support, and writing correction tools that help students progress more efficiently.
A central part of my teaching approach is building students’ confidence—not only in their language abilities but also in their ability to express themselves socially and engage comfortably in a multicultural environment. I place strong emphasis on creating a safe, respectful, and encouraging classroom space where all students feel welcomed and understood.
I take care to respect and acknowledge Korean cultural values and communication styles, which helps students feel more at ease when navigating cultural differences. At the same time, I introduce elements of British culture—such as customs, holidays, humour, and daily life—to help students gain cultural context and deepen their understanding of the language. This not only enriches their learning but also prepares them to interact confidently with native speakers and in English-speaking environments.
This experience has significantly strengthened my skills in classroom management, intercultural communication, and learner-centred teaching, and has deepened my passion for helping students achieve their language goals while feeling valued and supported.
