About Victoria

I have been offering private tuition in various capacities since 2012. I have received consistently positive feedback from the groups I've taught in and out of schools, and have had successful results with my private students

I’ve taught across Key Stage 1 and 2 and currently teach year 2. I specialise in year 1 phonics screening, years 2 sats and 11+ tuition and work with pupils in across year 1-6.

This is in addition to experience in tutoring 11 Plus English, Maths Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, and I have an in depth knowledge of requirements for CEM, GL and private school entrance tests across the country.

I have an Enhanced DBS Certificate.

About the lesson

Having worked in primary schools for the past 7 years, I have enjoyed helping students through difficulties with their subjects while endeavouring to find and solve the problems students have in their understanding to give them a firmer grasp of the topic. I am a very friendly and approachable person and experienced in teaching a variety of different ability levels. I use a variety of teaching methods to make learning interesting and fun, in order to get the best out of my students. I am skilled at establishing pupils` individual learning needs and tailoring lessons to ensure they can make as much progress as possible.

For any given first session I like to get to know the student, find out where they're at in their course of study, and see what their current working methods are like. Usually, talking about the current piece of homework, the next upcoming exam, or due assignment is a great way to gauge their requirements, assess where my help is most needed, and thus collaboratively devise a joint programme of work
