About Jimmy
I am a full-time Maths tutor with over 10 years of teaching experience, holding both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mathematics, as well as a valid New York State teaching certificate in secondary Maths education. I teach students preparing for 11+ grammar and independent school entrance exams (mainly in South West London), as well as GCSE, A-Level, Further Maths and Olympiad Maths. I am passionate about Maths and believe every student can succeed with the right support. My teaching approach is interactive, structured and fully personalised. I use differentiated instruction to suit individual learning styles and adapt lessons to support English Language learners and students with additional learning needs. I aim to build strong mathematical understanding, confidence and long-term success in a positive and supportive environment.

My lessons are structured, engaging and fully personalised to each student’s level and goals, whether preparing for 11+, GCSE or A-Level Maths. I begin by identifying strengths and gaps, then create a clear learning plan to build strong foundations and consistent progress. For 11+, lessons focus on core skills, accuracy, speed and exam technique. For GCSE and A-Level, I emphasise deep understanding, problem-solving and effective exam strategies. I use clear explanations, targeted practice and regular feedback to build confidence and ensure measurable improvement in Maths.
