About Akhila

Hello! I'm Akhila, an Information Science Engineering graduate currently pursuing a Master of Analytics at RMIT University in Melbourne. Before starting my master's, I worked as a Database Developer at Mercedes-Benz Research & Development India, where I developed technical solutions and enjoyed mentoring new team members through knowledge-sharing sessions.

Outside of my professional career, I've always enjoyed spending time with children and helping them learn. I have experience tutoring primary school students in India and find it incredibly rewarding to see a student's confidence grow as they begin to understand new concepts. Teaching is also a great way for me to continue learning, as every student brings a unique perspective and way of thinking.

I would describe myself as patient, calm, friendly, and approachable. I prepare each lesson carefully to ensure it is engaging, well-structured, and tailored to the student's needs. My aim is to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and enjoying the learning process.

When I'm not studying or tutoring, I enjoy drawing and sketching, reading thriller novels, and listening to music. I believe learning should be an enjoyable journey, and I'm excited to help every student achieve their goals.

About the lesson

I believe every student learns differently, so I personalize each lesson to match their pace, learning style, and confidence level. My goal is to help students truly understand concepts, not just memorize answers.

I am a patient, friendly, and approachable tutor who is happy to explain concepts as many times as needed. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.

To make learning engaging, I use real-life examples, visual aids, diagrams, storytelling, and interactive problem-solving. I also provide practice exercises, homework, and revision to reinforce learning and build confidence.

I have experience tutoring primary school children in India and enjoy encouraging young learners through positive reinforcement. Professionally, I worked as a Database Developer at Mercedes-Benz Research & Development India, where I conducted knowledge transfer (KT) sessions, simplifying technical concepts for new team members. This experience has strengthened my communication and teaching skills.

Lessons typically run for around one hour, with a short break if needed for younger students. I’m happy to adjust the lesson duration based on the student’s learning needs and parent preferences.
