About Arta

I offer personalised English tuition for children across central London, supporting students at different stages of their development with a thoughtful, tailored approach.

Alongside my work as a tutor, I am a published author with Oxford University Press and have been awarded international fellowships. This academic background shapes how I teach—but more importantly, it allows me to help students think clearly, express themselves well, and engage with ideas confidently.

Over the past five years, I have worked with a wide range of students: some who need support with reading and writing, and others who are aiming for a high level in their work, including academic competitions. In both cases, the goal is the same—to build genuine confidence and independence.

As a parent, I understand how important it is for children to feel secure in their learning. My sessions are calm, focused, and supportive, creating a space where students can ask questions, take risks, and gradually strengthen their skills without pressure. We focus on what really matters: clear writing, strong comprehension, and the ability to express ideas with confidence. Over time, this builds not just better results at school, but a lasting sense of capability.

Lessons usually take place at home, helping children feel at ease and making learning part of their routine—especially important for younger learners, but equally valuable for older students who need a consistent, focused environment.

I hold a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Maastricht University, an International Diploma from University of California, Berkeley, and a fellowship from Emory University—bringing a broad perspective to the way I support students in reading, writing, and thinking.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to support children in a way that is both structured and responsive to their individual needs. Each session is carefully adapted depending on the child’s level, pace, and personality, so that progress feels steady rather than rushed.

I work with students across a broad range of abilities. Some need help organising their thoughts and improving clarity in writing, while others are ready to refine their style, develop stronger arguments, and engage with more complex texts. The focus is always on helping each child move forward from where they are.

A typical lesson combines focused skill-building with discussion and guided practice. We might work on comprehension strategies, sentence structure, vocabulary development, or planning and structuring longer pieces of writing. Over time, students become more independent in how they approach their work.

For younger students, I place particular emphasis on keeping them engaged and involved. This might include interactive tasks, shared reading, or short, varied activities that maintain attention while still building essential skills.
