• Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  I’ve always loved exploring fashion trends and experimenting with styles. From a young age, I wanted to be one of the best dressed, which naturally pulled me into this field. I went on to pursue my passion and graduated with a B.Sc. in Fashion Designing. Now, as a fashion designer, sewing feels like part of my everyday life—it’s like my best partner. It’s where I feel most creative, turning simple fabrics into something that reflects both style and personality.

• What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  My biggest motivation to teach comes from my own journey. I struggled a lot to get proper training in pattern making and sewing techniques. I had to juggle between college, extra classes, and online training, and even then, it wasn’t easy to find the right guidance. Over time, with all the learnings put together, I developed my own patterns and techniques. I don’t want anyone else to go through the same struggle, because sometimes, in the process of searching for proper training, the dream slowly dies. Teaching gives me the chance to make that journey smoother for others and keep their passion alive.

• How does your work help society?

  My work helps society by empowering people to express themselves through fashion and creativity. By teaching sewing and pattern-making, I give aspiring designers the right skills and guidance so their dreams don’t fade away
  
  In simple words, I help keep creativity alive and dreams from dying.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  My role model is my grandmother. She taught me resilience, creativity, and the value of craftsmanship by transforming even simple fabrics into something meaningful. Her influence inspires me to design with passion and use fashion as a tool for self-expression and empowerment.

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  Outside teaching, I love spending time sewing and designing—it’s not just my profession but also my favorite hobby. I also enjoy a little bit of baking, which lets me relax and get creative in a different way.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  When I first started sewing, I often failed at getting patterns right. I remember spending nights re-doing a single outfit until it looked the way I imagined. Those mistakes, though frustrating, taught me the importance of patience and practice. Today, when I teach, I share those stories so my students know that struggling is part of the journey, not the end of it.
