About Lauren
I am a friendly and approachable university student with experience tutoring secondary school students in Math and Biology. I have worked with students across different year levels and abilities, including NCEA students, and I understand that every student learns differently.
As a current Education and Biology student, I have a strong interest in both my subjects and in helping students develop their confidence and understanding. I aim to create a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions, making mistakes, and working through challenging topics without feeling pressured.
I am reliable, patient, and committed to helping each student make progress towards their individual academic goals. Whether you need help understanding a particular topic, preparing for an assessment, or building confidence in a subject, I will tailor lessons to suit your needs.

I’m a university student studying Education and Biology, with experience tutoring secondary school students in both Maths and Biology. I aim to make lessons relaxed, supportive and tailored to each student’s individual needs and learning style.
My approach is to first identify what the student is struggling with, then break difficult concepts down into clear, manageable steps. I encourage students to ask questions and work through problems themselves, while providing guidance and explanations when needed. I also like to use practice questions and exam-style problems to help students build confidence and prepare for assessments.
Lessons are typically 1 hour long, although this can be adjusted depending on the student’s age, level and needs. I tutor students at secondary school level, including NCEA students, and can adapt lessons to suit different abilities and goals.
I have experience tutoring students across different year levels and subjects, and I particularly enjoy helping students who feel like they are “not good” at a subject become more confident in their abilities.
