About Marie

Originally an experienced Marketing Manager and Business professional, I retrained to be a teacher / lecturer 14 years ago and have never looked back! It is so rewarding seeing my students from all around the world gain confidence and love for learning. I've taught privately in the UK and also lectured 180 students at a time at Universities in China, as well as delivering bespoke training to teachers and other professionals. In the past few years, I've taught Business A-levels at an exclusive private school in Oxford; I've delivered workshops to students in Moscow; I've led Business and Environmental courses for an international summer school; I've delivered Teacher Training workshops in the UK, China and Kurdistan, I've helped prepare students for IELTS exams (achieving up to grade 8.5 with my unique coaching style!), given talks to various institutions in England, China and Spain, and taught Media Communications, British History and Politics at University in Oxford. I've also taught privately both face to face and online, including 11+ and 13+ English preparation, Psychology, Sociology and Business A-Levels, and have researched, written and produced academic course materials for a variety of academic institutions. I'm passionate about bridging gaps in education, entrepreneurship, promoting equality, and sustainable living and the environment, and try to embed these topics in my courses where relevant. About the lesson

I believe in a supportive and creative style of learning, and I will help you overcome your insecurities and build your confidence, and help you develop a love for learning. Past students have fed back that I was the first teacher that really encouraged them, and made them feel I wanted them to succeed. Too many teaching experiences are negative and stressful - I believe that learning should be meaningful and enjoyable. I will help you achieve your goals in a friendly, safe and supportive environment, always with kindness, laughter and a smile.
