About Joy

I didn't always have it easy with math. There were moments in school where I sat in class completely lost, too embarrassed to raise my hand and ask for help. So I know exactly how it feels to stare at a problem and feel like everyone else gets it except you.
That experience never left me — and honestly, it's a big part of why I chose to study Mathematics Education at the University of Benin. I didn't just want to learn math. I wanted to learn how to teach it in a way that actually reaches people.
Over 5 years of tutoring, I've worked with students at different levels and I've seen firsthand how much difference the right guidance makes. A student who once dreaded math starts solving problems with a smile — that never gets old for me.
I'm based in Nigeria and I genuinely love what I do. Teaching isn't just a job for me — it's something I care about deeply. There's nothing more rewarding than watching a student go from confused and frustrated to confident and capable.
If your child is struggling, please know — it's not that they can't do it. They just need someone in their corner. And I'd love to be that person.

About the lesson

Let me be honest with you, nobody is born bad at maths. Sometimes you just haven't met the right teacher yet. That's where I come in.
Every lesson starts with a simple conversation. I want to know where you're stuck, what makes sense, and what feels like gibberish. From there, we build — together, at a pace that actually works for you.
I teach Algebra and Statistics using real-life examples and everyday language, so instead of staring at a problem wondering where to even begin, things start to click. That moment when a student finally gets it? That's honestly my favourite part of this job.
No rushing. No making you feel silly for asking questions. Just a relaxed, focused session where real learning actually happens.
