About Katherine
I am an experienced tutor both in and out of classrooms and currently a PhD student at the University of Exeter. I achieved the following: • A* - GCSE English language • A - GCSE English Literature • A - A-Level English Literature • English Degree - Royal Holloway University of London (earning the Caroline Spurgeon Award for Excellence in Shakespeare) • English Masters with Distinction - University of Exeter I am always available to check progress in between sessions via email at no extra cost. I have been recruited by local schools to help pupils improve their literacy skills and exam techniques and had the joy of seeing struggling students soar as a result. I pride myself on my organisational skills, my punctuality and the intellectual rigour of my lessons. I also believe that openness, kindness and patience are essential in assisting others with an academic subject. I understand that every tutee is unique in their initial abilities and that the best results derive from an atmosphere of collaboration. All I ask of my tutees is that they meet any moments of difficulty with self-kindness and courage. In time, you will succeed!

My lessons would be tailored to the students' needs and on topics they want to cover. I use examples and exercises to build knowledge and understanding of the topics. I closely monitor the students' progress outside of the session and ensure they feel supported at all times. As tutoring is expensive by nature, I am always available to check progress in between sessions via email at no extra cost. I understand that every tutee is unique in their initial abilities and that the best results derive from an atmosphere of collaboration.
