About Rachel
Hi!
I'm a Cambridge University student studying for a masters in Engineering, currently in my 4th year. I'm specialising in Civil and Structural Engineering but have studied all branches to some extent.
I'm looking to tutor students because I'm considering going into teaching and would love to get some experience in it. I'm very confident in Maths and Physics and would comfortably be able to tutor up to A Level. I'd also love to help with university applications, particularly Oxford and Cambridge.
My qualifications: I achieved straight A*s in my A Levels of Maths, Further Maths and Physics, and managed to get 100% in all of my Maths modules. I got a place to study Engineering at Kings College Cambridge, with only a 10% applicant success rate that year. Since then I've achieved either a first or high 2.i every year. My degree is sponsored by Construction firm Lendlease, after they recognised my potential during a work experience placement I did during my A Levels.
Why choose me? I like to think of myself as fun, friendly and organised. I've always loved teaching others. After I achieved my A* in GCSE Maths a year early, I spent the rest of my Maths lessons tutoring others in the class who didn't find it so easy. I won an award at my sixth form college which recognised the amount of time I spent teaching others in A Level Maths.
