About Jake

I am a friendly and understanding teacher, I have recently completed a PhD in Mathematics at the University of Manchester, previous to this I have achieved a Distinction in MSc Mathematics from the University of Sussex as well as a First Class with Honours in BSc Mathematics from Loughborough University, A in Maths and Further Maths at A Level, and A* in GCSE Maths.

About the lesson

My aim as a tutor is to learn the ways in which each individual student learns best, then to teach them in a way which they will understand, I also help with exam preparation techniques!

I have been tutoring for nearly 12 years and have had many students of varying ages achieve great success, including 100% scores in some exams. My goal is for my students to achieve their targets, from primary level to adult learners.

In the past 12 years I have taught junior school level, secondary school level, GCSE, A-level and first year university level, which has given me a good working knowledge of all relevant syllabuses.

I first found a flair for teaching from aiding many of my peers at school, college and university, this led me towards teaching as a profession.

I am available daytime, evenings and weekends.

I know Jake through a mutual hobby. Jake taught me maths towards the 4 major auditing firms (KPMG, EY, PWC and Deloitte) due to their online maths exams. He was patient and good at explaining maths concepts in a way that was understandable and could be applied immediately. I passed all their tests and scored 100% on each of the exams so the lessons paid off! Beyond his knowledge and ability to teach by explaining and demonstrating the concepts he is also very genuine and does not give off any elitism vibe you can find in snooty teachers. He is the first person I go to with any maths problem and always will be!
