About Ollie
I am a friendly and patient tutor with a deep passion for all STEM subjects and I love to provide an all-round learning experience for my students with skills that will hopefully be useful in other subjects. From my Master's in Engineering, I have been equipped with a range of application-based skills from Physics to managerial skills, which can be fed into tutoring sessions to provide motivation for students. I have also provided many tutoring sessions over the past few years to Year 9-11 GCSE students.

In a world of theory, I focus on providing hour-long lessons to GCSE Maths & Physics students who not only struggle with the technical work, but also motivation for these subjects. I have found from previous experience tutoring that providing a retrospective approach of presenting interesting applications, from business to technology - whatever interests the student, then providing relevant exercises to link technical work to the real world is very effective in increasing motivation. One example I have used previously is linking equations of a line to stock market trends, which a business-oriented student found very helpful. I prefer to conduct lessons online, using tools such as Microsoft Whiteboard to provide a collaborative and interactive workspace for my sessions, further engaging students. I also provide tailored notes created during the session so the student can easily revise any topics covered in their own time.
