About Navin

I am a Langley Grammar School student, in my final year of A-Levels, studying Maths, Physics, Geography and Further Maths. I am a highly attaining student, with predicted A*s in A-Level Maths, Physics and Geography, with an A in AS Further Maths. I’ve also achieved nine grade 9s at GCSE level, and an A* with distinction in GCSE Further Maths. Having recently done my GCSEs and AS-Level examinations, I know what to do in order to attain the highest grades possible. My thorough passion for the subjects, education, and learning will be conveyed in lessons, as I aim to give students the best opportunities for success.

My experience in teaching comes from assisting my own tutor for 3 years now. I help students who are struggling with questions and inform them of methods for finding solutions. I have experience in handling students, as I volunteer for coaching hockey at my school and local hockey club. I have also achieved a Sports Leader qualification, as a result of leading sessions in local primary schools.

About the lesson

My teaching aims to be friendly and encouraging; the environment will be productive and engaging, allowing students to develop and reach their potentials.

I will focus on a balance of subject content and exam practice, making sure that the students understands the concept before learning how to apply it to exam questions. This means that lessons will be flexible, in terms of a mix of content and skills being covered, depending on what the student needs.

I will make sure that the students have in depth knowledge of the course content, an understanding of exam techniques in order to gain maximum marks, and what examiners look for in student answers to questions. This allows students to be confident in their knowledge and their abilities, ready to be applied to exams.

A free lesson will be offered first, in order for me to gauge the level of understanding of the student, and how I can plan my lessons ahead. It is also an opportunity for the student to raise the topics that they are struggling with, so that we can focus on those first.

Ultimately, the lessons will be tailored to the students capabilities and learning style, ensuring that they become experts in all topics so that they will feel confident when it is time for exams.
